"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us." (Pg.180)
Throughout the novel Scott Fitzgeral uses colours as symbols to portray certain feelings or actions that go around the novel. The colour green has been present by being one of the main characteristics of Daisy´s house. The colour green in this passage reminded me of a traffic light, when the green light is on, it means to keep on going. Meaning that Gatsby had to keep on going in order to win Daisy´s heart. It was his inspiration to keep on throwing his luxurious parties, great lunches, and maybe to even keep on being friends with Nick to get his girl. It is what told Gatsby to never give up and keep on fighting.
